I wish to offer two apologies for
blogs:
|
|
| |
1. The pleading off from a charge or
imputation, whether expressed, implied, or only conceived as possible;
In the first apology, I wish to plead off from the charge of a failure
to actively log entries in
my
blog this semester. In doing so I include a possible rationalization
for students' lack of interest in blogs, and recommend blogs be presented in the
context of a rhetorical situation. Such a rhetorical situation is realized
in the all-blog 103
syllabus I designed
for this class. This apology serves as part of the essay
portion of my blog presentation, in partial fulfillment of the
requirements for the
English 692.

2. Defense of a person, or
vindication of an institution, etc., from accusation or aspersion.
In my second apology, I wish to defend blogs against all accusers.
In requesting and recommending an English 103 class centered around blogs,
I am aware of the need to respond to certain disparaging attitudes,
especially within the academic community. This
apology also serves as the essay portion of my blog presentation,
in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the
English 692.
